This go-to ingredient can be made in advance in bulk, then used throughout the week to add an extra something to your favorite dishes.
- Put peeled, whole cloves of garlic in a mixing bowl (use garlic from a bag of pre-peeled whole cloves to save time). Coat with olive oil. Add a generous sprinkling of balsamic vinegar. Lightly season with salt, pepper and basil leaves.
- Transfer seasoned garlic to a miniature dutch oven or wrap in triple-layered aluminum foil. Cook at 350 degrees for approximately 45 minutes, until garlic is lightly browned and caramelized.
- Can be used immediately on bread as a spread or can be saved in the refrigerator for adding to other recipes.
